Auburn University Ginn College of Engineering Joins Leadership Greater Huntsville as Community Trustee
The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering continues to build its presence and forge partnerships in the Rocket City, recently entering into an agreement with Leadership Greater Huntsville.
Auburn Engineering will provide a community trusteeship in the amount of $10,000, funded through the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Auburn Engineering Online and Continuing Education, and the Thomas Walter Center for Technology Management, to help Leadership Greater Huntsville (LGH) fulfill its mission of creating programs that “empower emerging and established leaders to serve their community with purpose, compassion and excellence.”
“Leadership Greater Huntsville is incredibly thankful to have Auburn Engineering join us as a community trustee,” said Christie Finley, CEO of LGH. “Their investment will help expand our leadership development efforts across Huntsville and the North Alabama region, from high school students to seasoned professionals. We are thrilled to collaborate with an institution that shares our passion for service, innovation and equipping leaders to generate meaningful change.”
Representatives from Auburn Engineering and LGH participated in a signing ceremony at the Space and Missile Defense Symposium at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville on Aug. 6, 2025, to formalize the partnership.
Auburn Engineering will receive several benefits from the partnership, including logo placement on the LGH website, social media channels, newsletter and emails; opportunities to speak at and/or attend LGH programs, recognition as a trustee in program materials and signage; and inclusion in the LGH annual update and quarterly trustee updates.
Just after the signing ceremony, Auburn representatives presented information about its graduate online programs at Spark, a one-week LGH program for college students who are eager to become leaders in their community.
“We’re excited to launch a new partnership with Leadership Greater Huntsville,” said Alicia Harkless, director of Auburn Engineering Online and Continuing Education. “This collaboration is forging dynamic connections with community and industry leaders, expanding access to lifelong learning, cultivating civic-minded leadership and strengthening the bridge between academic insight and real-world impact.”
